Tug Hill Yeti Quest

Race Details

Tug Hill Outfitters is hosting an 8 hour, and a 3 hour adventure race on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Osceola, NY. The race is located in Central New York, on the southern end of the Tug Hill Plateau, at Osceola Ski & Sport Resort. For the race, you will receive a set of topographic maps with pre-plotted checkpoints that you will use to navigate the course with only the maps and compass, while snowshoeing, & cross-country skiing. The team that finds the most checkpoints within the 8 hour time limit, or the 3 hour time limit wins. If more than one team finds all of the checkpoints, the fastest time wins. If teams don’t make it back before the time cut-off, they will lose 1 checkpoint for every minute they’re late. All checkpoints are optional and your team can tackle as much or as little of the course as you’re up for. Teams sizes can range from 1 to 4 people. Approximate distances to be determined. Racers will be required to carry mandatory individual and team gear during the race (to be announced). There will be one or more opportunities to drop and access a gear bag during the race. This race has something for everyone, from newcomers interested in trying the sport, and more competitive adventure racers who are looking for some fun and challenging off trail navigation!
